There was a buzz of excitement as the great and the beautiful descended upon Westbourne Grove to celebrate the launch exhibition of international artist Leto Lama. Guests travelled from as far as the USA, Greece and Hong Kong to attend the highly anticipated launch and to be among the first to acquire some special pieces. Leto Lama's supporters include art collectors and VIPs from UBS, Credit Suisse, the shipping and super yacht world, global entertainment brands and tech and gaming entrepreneurs.
Leto Lamagrew up immersed in the art and poetry of her family, passionately painting since the age of just 5 years old. Her artistic heritage is impressive and has been a strong influence on Leto and is apparent in her work. Leto has Greek, Hungarian and Tibetan heritage and is the daughter of painter Eva Persaki andgranddaughter of Hungarian French sculptor Lszl Szab. Her grandmother,cubist and abstract painter Gianna Persaki (student ofFernand Lger and Andr Lhote), was thelife companion of renownedGreek poet Miltos Sachtouris.
Leto uses oil on canvas, applying colours layer by layer to achieve the desirable outcome as well as embracing the impasto technique. Her work is focused on abstract creations arising from geometry and composition simplification as well as forms & figures. The colours vary and her inspiration is drawnfrom dreams, stories, life experiences, relationships and emotions using the canvas and differing techniques as a form of creation and a way to express her thoughts and ideas.
A strong artistic family, coupled with her Asian origins has granted her with a unique style inspired by both Western and Eastern influence. Leto's figuratively abstract style entices and excites with a depth of creativity welcomed by the supporters and critics. This initial exhibition is a near sell-out and is regarded as anunprecedented success. Leto Lama is definitely an artist to watch in 2017.

Leto Lama is a Greek-Tibetan artist based in Kensington and Chelsea. She comes from a family established in European art history and is delighted to continue her family heritage launch her own works this December in London. Leto is always keen to meet with editors and art enthusiast and welcomes any approach. Her exhibition will travel to different locations in 2017 and will evolve and develop with its journey.
