If you have ever wanted the chance to see your favorite Broadway stars shed all the makeup and costumes and their fancy nightly script for a more "rough around the edges" feel, check out Rockers on Broadway Monday December 6th at 8pm at Crash Mansion for your wish to be granted.

Now successfully in its fourth year, Rockers on Broadway began as the brain child of Pete Townsend who wanted to give the cast of The Who's Tommy a chance to break out from character and use their vocal talent to sing something else. With that thought in mind, Rockers on Broadway was born. This year, Rockers on Broadway will host a list of notable names Monday night singing for charity at their December show. Donnie Kehr, Director Des McAnuff, Hairspray's Kathy Brier, Aida's Will Chase, Brooklyn's Eden Espinosa, Bare's Jenna Leigh Green, Rent's Ryan Link, American Idol's Justin Guarini and others are taking the microphone to sing some good old-fashioned rock n' roll in an effort to raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

"This is the furthest thing from karaoke," Sabrina Gordin, co-producer of Rockers on Broadway says with a laugh. "We compile pit players from different shows and put them together to provide the energy and music we need for the performers to get up there and rock out."

The show contains two acts and for the first time will be held in a theater like setting in Crash Mansion so those attending can comfortably enjoy drinks and entertainment.

Participants in Rockers on Broadway cover all ends of the spectrum in the Broadway world. From directors to actors, current and non-current performers, Broadway and Off-Broadway stars, this charitable event doesn't miss a beat. This year, they are even incorporating some performers who are more familiar with another kind of stage. American Idol's Justin Guarini and the DiVinyl's Christina Amplett are set to sing - true evidence of the fusion between rock and Broadway. Participants choose their own songs which can give a bit of insight into each star's personality and adds to the spontaneity of the night. Who knows though, if you're lucky enough, maybe you can even muster a rendition of "I Touch Myself" out of Christina.

"Anyone and everyone who participates in Rockers on Broadway is like a part of a big extended family," Gordin added. "You couldn't ask for anything better – you're in a casual, fun atmosphere with friends getting together and rocking out, all while raising money for a great cause."

Doors open at 7pm. Tickets can be bought at the door for $20 a piece with all proceeds going to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
