Broadway musical licensor Theatrical Rights Worldwide (TRW) and Rock The Audition's Sheri Sanders have partnered to create a series of new rock musicals that bridge the gap between popular music and musical theatre.

"TRW is responding to demand from our buyers for catalog-driven musicals that connect with audiences through the soundtrack of their generation," said Steve Spiegel, President and CEO, Theatrical Rights Worldwide. "We are thrilled to be embarking on this amazing journey with Sheri Sanders and look forward to introducing a collection of vibrant, invigorating new works to immediately meet that need in the theatrical marketplace."

As a highly sought-after pop/rock performance and repertoire coach for stage and screen, Sheri Sanders is widely viewed as the authority on the significant relationship between musical theatre and the popular songs embedded in our cultural DNA. Sanders said, "This collection of musicals will draw from the experiences of a broad and diverse collection of artists and will seek to examine the creation, refinement, and historical context of their respective genres through the lens of marginalized voices."

Sheri Sanders' book, Rock The Audition, was published by Hal Leonard in 2011, and is the basis for her successful Rock The Audition online training program. Sheri trains university-based musical theatre programs, private voice and acting teachers, and professional performers, and is launching her teen program this fall. Her students have been featured in the Broadway, Off Broadway, and touring companies of Hamilton, Waitress, The Great Comet..., Kinky Boots, Jersey Boys, Memphis, Rock of Ages, American Idiot, Hairspray, Legally Blonde and Wicked, to name just a few as well as television shows including The Voice, Empire, Grease Live!, X Factor, American Idol, Glee, and The Glee Project.

Theatrical Rights Worldwide (TRW) licenses musicals to thousands of theatre organizations around the world as agents for an exclusive roster of Broadway, West End, Off-Broadway and Theatre for Young Audiences titles, managing and distributing production rights for public performance. TRW's Broadway Collection includes The Addams Family, All Shook Up, Big Fish, The Color Purple, Ghost the Musical, Jersey Boys, Memphis, Monty Python's Spamalot and more.
