Theatre Talk Tony Predictions on Friday, May 3

This week on Theatre Talk, theatre journalists Michael Riedel of The New York Post, Michael Musto of The Village Voice, Patrick Pacheco of Show People, Robert Simonson of Playbill On-Line and Susan Haskins will predict the winners of Sunday's Tony Awards and explain why they think each will win.

Theatre Talk
is a news/discussion TV series devoted to the world of the stage. It began on New York television in 1993 and is co-hosted by Riedel and Haskins, who also produces the series.



The program is one of the few independent productions on PBS and now airs weekly on PBS affiliates in New York City, Boston, Hartford and Washington, D.C.

 

The Tonys, which will be held at Radio City Music Hall on June 5th from 8-11 PM (with a CBS broadcast at that EST) are presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing.   Hugh Jackman will host the ceremony, while Alan Alda, Joan Allen, Christina Applegate, Angela Bassett, Matthew Broderick, Mario Cantone, Don Cheadle, Marcia Cross, Jon Cryer, Laurence Fishburne, Jeff Goldblum, Ann Hathaway, Dennis Haysbert, Ethan Hawke, Allison Janney, James Earl Jones, Nathan Lane, Laura Linney, Jesse Martin, Idina Menzel, Esai Morales, Megan Mullally, Bernadette Peters, David Hyde Pierce, Sandra Oh, Doris Roberts, Emmy Rossum, Keri Russell, Liev Schreiber, Tony Shaloub, Julia Stiles, Kathleen Turner and Leslie Uggams are among the presenters.

Theatre Talk
airs Friday at 12:30 AM (Saturday morning) on PBS Thirteen and reairs Monday, June 6th at 5 AM (for viewers who want to see how well Riedel et al did in their predictions). The show also airs on WGBH44 Boston on Sunday at 2:30 PM (following NY Times' critics, Brantley and Isherwood at 2 PM).
