Meet Robinson Crusoe through an interactive show Life on a Desert Island based on Daniel Defoe's beloved novel. Only one more performance in Central Park this summer!

Theatre-Playground has created an extraordinary play for children that gives them the opportunity to experience the excitement of an interactive theatre. Through this classic tale of adventure, the children learn to live in harmony with nature and respect the environment. While Robinson tells the story of his journey from England and being shipwrecked, he creates his house, boat and tools right in front the children. He also teaches them how to find water, grow food, make a trap, unfurl a sail, and make a bow and arrows.

Theatre-Playground is an international troupe co-founded by Biljana Ilic, Producer, and Vojin Paunovic, Director. They are returning for the fourth time to New York City to present this spectacular one-man show with Jason Vance in the role of Robinson Crouse. This show has been performing for 10 years in different languages but they say that kids imagination doesn’t have borders. Robinson takes them on the journey of learning to live alone in the wilderness. On one performance in New York, when Robinson asked the audience what they have in the city that could help him, one boy said “my annoying sisters!” The audience is forced to reflect upon their lives, their environment, and what they would do to survive in this scenario. Set in the park, kids are also easily taught how to be more resourceful.

The last one New York City performance for this summer will be on Saturday, JUNE 30 at 5pm: CENTRAL PARK next to The Heckscher playground (in the line of 61st St. & 7th Ave.) The lawn is next to The Heckscher playground, to the right of softball field #2.
No tickets or reservations are needed. Audiences may bring blankets and folding chairs. For show information and schedule, please visit the Theatre-Playground website: http://theatreplayground.com or call (646) 964-7007.
