With Gore Vidal's The Best Man enjoying a new run on Broadway, THEATER TALK this weekend will repeat an interview with the renowned playwright, recorded in October 2000 when the first-ever revival of the 1960 play was also on Broadway.
THEATER TALK – Gore Vidal, co-hosted by Michael Riedel of the New York Post and series producer Susan Haskins, will encore at 1 a.m. on Friday, April 27 (2012; early Saturday morning) on Thirteen/PBS, followed in New York City on CUNY TV* Saturday at 8:30 PM, Sunday at 12:30 PM, and Monday at 7:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 7:30 PM.
In addition to his insights about the play, Vidal also discusses his close acquaintance with political figures ranging from President John F. Kennedy to his "Cousin Albert" (Al Gore, who was about to lose the election shortly after the interview was recorded).
THEATER TALK is the weekly series dedicated to the world of the stage. It is jointly produced by the not-for-profits Theater Talk Productions and CUNY TV. The program is taped in the Himan Brown TV and Radio Studios at The City University of New York (CUNY) TV in Manhattan, and is distributed to 60+ participating public television stations nationwide.
