Theater Resources Unlimited Announces The Cast And Industry Talkback Panel For MIRACOLO

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces Miracolo by Jarlath Barsanti-Jacobs and Emilio Solla as part of the 2019 TRU Voices New Musicals Reading Series on Monday evening January 14, 2019 at 7pm at the Actors Temple, 339 West 47th Street, New York, NY. The reading is produced by Harold Heno in association with R.K. Greene, and will be directed by Fred Mann III. Cast will include Adam Baritot (Sweeney Todd at Theater 2020, Tristan and Isolde at FringeNYC), Ellen Bullinger (Our Sinatra at Birdland NYC), Toni Gardner, Michael Glavan (Ultimate Man in NYMF, Sex Tips for Straight Women...), David Macaluso (Ruddigore at City Center, The Pirates of Penzance at Signature Theater), Patrick John Moran (Do Re Mi at Musicals Tonight, The Boys Next Door at Identity Theatre), Andrew Parks (All for Joe at The Duke, The Producers at Theatre by the Sea), Zoe Raphael (Footloose at Maine State Music Theatre), Brandon Keith Rogers (Mamma Mia! on Broadway), Christopher Tuck, Vanessa Wendt (La Maupin: The Musical in the Fresh Fruit Festival) and Lindsay Zelli.

The purpose of the TRU Voices New Musical Reading Series is to (a) help develop new musicals, (b) help producers develop the skills needed to produce new works, and c) foster the producer-writer relationship for future development beyond the series. The reading will be followed by a "Dollars and Sense" industry panel discussion to include: Ken Cerniglia, dramaturge and literary manager for Disney Theatrical (Freaky Friday, Aladdin, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Peter and the Starcatcher, Newsies, High School Musical, Tarzan, The Little Mermaid)); Valerie Novakoff, associate producer at Davenport Theatrical Enterprises (Once on This Island, Gettin' the Band Back Together), previously at Jeffrey Finn Productions (An Act of God, Sunday in the Park with George); Kevin Connor, managing producer Hal Luftig Company (Kinky Boots, Children of a Lesser Godrevival), managing director Houses on the Moon theatrer company; Ric Wanetik, producer (Tony nominated Twilight Los Angeles: 1992, Broadway's Marlene, Off-Broadway's Jolson and Company) and senior advisor for America to the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC); Frank Zuback, producer (Roof of the World, American Soldier, Taking Leave).

About Miracolo

It's 1895, when science was king and the X-ray machine was introduced. The Roman newspapers are abuzz with the International Surgical Congress and the breakthrough surgery Roberto will perform on his tycoon uncle, but his uncle flees the hospital to an idyllic island off the Amalfi Coast for a miracle healing instead. Roberto chases after him and by chance, falls in love with the beguiling healer, Apollonia. Back in Rome, the hospital head plots to use any means to get the uncle and his money to return to the hospital. The congress, his reputation, and the hospital's survival are at stake. Not to mention Roberto was about to marry his daughter, Teresa. Do Apollonia and Roberto love enough to bridge the ocean between their worlds?

Next in the series: Seeing Red by Joey Mazzarino and Aron Accurso, directed by Jenn Thompson and starring Kerry Butler will be performed February 4, 2019 also at the Actors Temple.

Harold Heno is a 30-year veteran of theatre working as a producer, director and designer. He co-founded the non-profit Found Space Theatre Group in New Orleans. He took over the role of resident designer and technical director for Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre. He was lured away from New Orleans by Campbell University in North Carolina to take over as Chair of Theatre Arts and build a new full time Theatre Arts major. He eventually made his way to New York, where he worked for Center Line Studios to create sets for Broadway shows, such as Noises Off, and the New York Opera Association. He worked off-Broadway with the Irish Rep Theatre on productions of Pigtown and The Streets of New York. Drawn back to education, he went to work as Chair of Performing Arts at the Storm King School, an international boarding school, developing a community theatre and becoming Artistic Director of The Canterbury Players. Producing and mounting numerous musicals and plays while in residence, his most notable production was an un-sanitized production of Big River. Most recently, Harold directed the new site-specific immersive experience, The Bloody Deed of 1857, for which he received an award for collaboration by Ken Davenport's Producers Perspective program.

Emilio Solla is a world renowned pianist/composer/arranger who tours Europe and America with his tango jazz trio and orchestra. He was nominated for a Grammy for Latin jazz.

Jarlath Barsanti Jacobs is an award winning advertising copywriter turned playwright, lyricist and librettist. Play: Lunch At Audrey's. Musicals: Miracoloand Fire Island.

Fred C. L. Mann III began his theatrical training at Indiana University. Migrating to New York City, he found himself immersed in the Bob Fosse atelier, appearing in productions of Sweet Charity, Chicago, Dancin', and on the screen in All That Jazz. Beyond dancing, Fred has directed and choreographed diverse presentations in theatre, opera, film, concert dance, television, commercials, and industrial trade shows. Credits include productions of Chicago, Pippin, Fiddler on the Roof, and Carousel, the premieres of A Glimpse of the Light, Portrait of a Hunchback, Jazz Talks, and the world premie?re of Eartha Kitt's Cowboy and the Legend. Fred has worked with Gwen Verdon, Donna McKechnie, Jerry Orbach, Michael York, and Chita Rivera and directors Hal Prince, Ron Field, and Ivan Reitman. Fred also brought his experience to the University of Wyoming as Associate Professor of Theatre and Dance and, more recently, to Alvin Ailey American Dance.
