Theater Resources Unlimited to Host 'IS THIS SHOW WORTH INVESTING IN?' Producer Boot Camp This Month

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) presents a new TRU Producer Boot camp, Recognizing Commercial Potential: Is This Show Worth Investing In?, an innovative workshop on Sunday, June 14th, 2015 from 12:00pm to 4:00 pm at The Playroom Theatre, 151 W. 46th Street, 8th Floor, NYC.

This half-day workshop offers valuable insights for producers as well as investors, and some practical tips for determining the viability of the project you feel most passionate about. Bottom line: Is it a good investment? A panel of commercial Broadway and off-Broadway producers and investors will offer their experience and observations and discuss the strategies they use for picking the projects they support.

Moderated by attorney Eric S. In this unprecedented program, commercial producers on TRU's Board of Directors, and other producers, will share their own views on evaluating plays as investments. You will hear insider takes on how producers and investors evaluate projects, including the structural integrity of the play itself, the production and creative teams, the financial plan for the initial commercial production, the possibility for downstream revenue and the potential competition. And you'll hear some stories about pitches that were wildly successful and epic failures.
