The Wyvern Theatre Seeks Frames For TICK-ART

The Wyvern Theatre will be exhibiting original artwork by their resident community group Right Time for Art, which is supported by Reach Inclusive Art, this July. Right Time for Art are older people who have benefitted from art therapy and have moved on to become a creative force in the local community.

The group have been commissioned by the Wyvern Theatre to design original artwork on archived theatre tickets under the guidance of local artist Gina Dunford.

Reach Inclusive Art’s Right Time For Art enables people who find it hard to express their thoughts and feelings through other therapeutic media to have a voice. The art materials provide a means of expression through which both conscious and unconscious self-expression may occur.

“Reach Inclusive Arts has been delighted at the progress that Right Time for Art has made and are proud that they have been able to sustain their arts development,” says Helen Whelehan from Reach Inclusive Arts. “The Wyvern Theatre have been very supportive of Right Time for Art and the Tick-Art commission is a fantastic opportunity for the group.”

Together with the Wyvern Theatre, Reach Inclusive Arts are promoting inclusion in the community through the forthcoming Tick-Art Exhibition. In order to exhibit the original artwork, the Wyvern is asking the general public to donate their used and unwanted photo and picture frames.

“I am very excited that the Wyvern Theatre and Reach Inclusive Arts are working together on such an exciting and quirky project. I can’t wait to see the work that the participants produce,” says Derek Aldridge, Theatre Director. “With over 130,000 tickets issued every year it is going to be great to see them being used in such a creative way!”

Please drop-off any unwanted photo or picture frames to the Wyvern Theatre’s Ticket Office before Thursday 31 May.
