Stephen Lynch, who will be seen in the upcoming Broadway musical version of The Wedding Singer this spring, will first treat audiences to a number of concert appearances in New York and around the country.

Lynch will perform at City Hall in New York City on October 6th as part of a tour that will last through November 5th; it will kick off in E. Strousdsburg, PA on September 27th. The singing, songwriting humorist will perform numbers from his new CD The Craig Machine in cities such as Boston, Orlando, Phildelphia and Atlanta.

Lynch's songs have a distinct comic edge, and he was featured on "Comedy Central Presents" in 2000. A regular on the "Opie and Anthony" radio Show in New York, his albums include A Little Bit Special and Superhero, as well as the DVD Live at the El Rey.

The Wedding Singer will mark Lynch's Broadway debut. He will co-star alongside Laura Benanti and Jason Antoon in the show, which is based off the hit 1998 romantic comedy that starred Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. "Robbie Hart lives in his grandmother's basement in New Jersey and sings in a wedding band. His dreams of being a singer/songwriter are long gone, replaced now by a burning desire to find the right girl and settle down. When his fiancée leaves him standing at the altar, he becomes a wedding planner's worst nightmare, taking out his bitterness on stage...until his eyes and heart turn to a new friend, Julia, but she's engaged to a wealthy Wall Street broker," state press notes.

The Wedding Singer will feature music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Chad Beguelin and a book by Beguelin and Tim Herlihy; two songs (by Herlihy and Sandler) will be retained from the film. The show will be produced by Margo Lion, New Line Cinema and the 5th Avenue Theatre, where the show will play a limited pre-Broadway engagement from January 31st through February 19th, 2006. The musical will make its way to one of the Broadway theatres owned by Jujamcyn in March, for an April opening date.
