The Times They Are A-Changin', the new musical conceived, directed and choreographed by Twyla Tharp and told through the songs of Bob Dylan, will play its final performance at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 W. 47th St.) on Sunday, November 19, 2006.
The musical began previews on Monday, September 25 and opened on Thursday, October 26. At the time of its closing, the dance musical will have played 28 performances and 35 previews.
The Times They Are A-Changin' had its world premiere at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, playing January 25 – March 19, 2006 (opened on Thursday, February 9).
The Times They Are A-Changin' stars Michael Arden ,Thom Sesma and Lisa Brescia, and features Lisa Gajda, Neil Haskell, Jason McDole, Charlie Neshyba-Hodges, Jonathan Nosan, John Selya and Ron Todorowski. Alexander Brady, John Herrera, Alaine Kashian, Katie Klaus, Keith Kühl, Marty Lawson, Joseph Putignano, Cary Tedder and Jason Wooten complete the company.
The production features scenic and costume design by Santo Loquasto, lighting design by Donald Holder and sound design by Peter Hylenski. The show has orchestrations by Michael Dansicker and Bob Dylan, with music adapted, arranged and supervised by Mr. Dansicker and musical direction by Henry Aronson.
The Times They Are A-Changin' is presented by James L. Nederlander, Hal Luftig/Warren Trepp, Debra Black, East of Doheny, Rick Steiner/Mayer-Bell-Staton Group, Terry Allen Kramer, Patrick Catullo and Jon B. Platt/Roland Sturm.
The musical will be performed Tuesday at 7 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday at 8 p.m., Wednesday and Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. through Sunday, November 19.
