Formed in Sleepy Hollow, New York, the Slambovians are pioneers of the alt-folk/americana genre and paved the way for DIY before it was fashionable, turning down major label deals all along the way. The NEW YORK TIMES says of the Slambovians, "Their songs are imbued with mystical stirrings and idealism... they take the stage by storm!"

The band's 6th studio release, "A Very Unusual Head," is due out June of 2016. This band takes no prisoners - Joziah Longo's bigger-than-life presence and signature voice, Sharkey McEwen's deft slidework on both mandolin and electric guitar, and Tink Lloyd's arsenal of instruments in her corner draws you in... They charm from the first note with thought provoking lyrics and a vibe that feeds the soul. Of note: new Slambovian drummer Felipe Torres (Carmine Appice's SLAMM, Davy Jones, David Cassidy) will be making his New York debut with the band at this performance!

Fiercely independent, they present both quirky Americana and Zen-like anthems in a universe entirely of their own making. Likened to an array of artists including the Waterboys, Jethro Tull, The Decemberists, a quirkier Tom Petty with an exotic instrumental arsenal, their "dusty Americana ballads" evoke Dylan, Cracker, or the Wallflowers.

The Slambovians are: Joziah Longo - songwriter/vocals/guitar/harmonica, Sharkey McEwen - guitar/mandolin, multi-instrumentalist Tink Lloyd - accordion/cello/ukelele/theremin, melodica, Felipe Torres-percussion, drums.
