The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture welcomes creative team members of the three-time Emmy nominated Netflix series Marvel's Daredevil. Casting Director Julie Schubert, Director of Original Programming at Marvel TV Matthew O'Brien, and the Rev. John Cush will serve on the panel in Speak of The Devil: A Conversation on the Hit Netflix Series Daredevil on Friday, July 29th at 7PM at The Sheen Center, 18 Bleecker Street.

The Sheen Center will host the lively conversation about what goes into making the hit Netflix series, as well as the moral themes the show explores. The Rev. John Cush is the Academic Dean of the Pontifical North American College in Rome, and also served as Theological Expert to Larry Tye on his book Superman: The High-flying History of America's Most Enduring Hero. Emmy Award-winning Casting Director Julie Schubert is partnered with LA based CD Laray Mayfield on most projects and credits include "House of Cards," and Marvel's upcoming "Iron Fist" and "Luke Cage". Matthew O'Brien is currently Marvel TV's Director of Original Programming, and has served as production coordinator on shows like "Smash", "Hostages", "White Collar", and "Ugly Betty."

Netflix's first Marvel series Daredevil is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name and follows Matt Murdock (played by Charlie Cox), attorney by day and vigilante by night. Blinded in an accident as a child, Murdock uses his heightened senses as Daredevil to fight crime on the streets of New York after the sun goes down.

Named after the late Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, best known for his popular radio and TV ministry in the 1950s and 60s, The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture is a project of the Archdiocese of New York with the mission of showcasing works in the performing and visual arts, lectures and symposia that highlight the true, the good, and the beautiful as they have been expressed throughout the ages. The state-of-the-art complex has a 273-seat proscenium theater equipped with five-camera high-definition livestream capability and a multi-track recording studio with thirty-two onstage inputs; an 80-seat black box theater; four rehearsal studios; and an art gallery. This facility is the newest arts center in Manhattan in 35 years and a great addition to the growing artistic community in the East Village/NoHo.

Tickets to SPEAK OF The Devil are $15 and available at www.sheencenter.org or by calling 212-925-2812.
