Back by popular demand, Dan Acquisto and Sammy Buck's The
Seven Year B*tch an
anniversary concert of two never-was-has-beens
will return for one performance at 7PM on Monday, November 5 at The Laurie Beechman Theater at the West Bank
Cafe (407 West 42nd Street - Downstairs). Carlos Armesto (Associate Artistic
Director, Ensemble Studio Theatre) directs.
Named as an Outstanding New Musical in Talkin' Broadway's Summer Theatre
Festival Citations, this wickedly funny and bitterly heartfelt revue features
the songs of Dan Acquisto and Sammy Buck who give you their tell-all and show
you what it's like to persevere, while five very talented performers sing songs
about misadventures in love and work, and never winning a certain performing
arts foundation grant each year.
This premiere performance played to a sold out crowd at TBG Theatre as part of
the 2007 New York Musical Theatre Festival.
The cast of The Seven Year B*tch includes
Becca Ayers (Avenue Q, Les Miserables), James Donegan (Forbidden Broadway: Rude Awakening), David Perlman (Barrington Stage Company's Calvin Berger), Amy Rutberg (Out
Leading Lady, Don't Quit Your Night
Job, "As The World Turns"), and Joanna
Young (The Drowsy Chaperone).
Brian Cimmet (The Drowsy Chaperone)
serves as music director.
Acquisto and Buck's Like You Like It, winner of the 2004 NMTN/TAM New
Voices Prize and the 2004 Golden NYMFette 2nd runner-up, was also workshopped
at New York University and was featured in the 2002 National Alliance of
Musical Theatre's Songwriter Showcase. In November, 2006, it appeared as part
of the International Festival of Musical Theatre in Cardiff,
Wales.
This past summer the show was produced in a unique collaboration of Sam Houston State University
and Houston's
Theatre Under the Stars, playing to sold-out crowds.
