Edward R. Matthews, CEO of United Cerebral Palsy of New York City (UCP of NYC), announced today that UCP of NYC will kick off the Holidays with The Santa Project Party and Auction on Wednesday, December 7th at Harlem's hot new wine lounge, Auberge Laurent.
The Santa Project Party and Auction, a benefit for UCP of NYC, will be co-hosted by film & theatre director/producer & owner of The Pink Tea Cup and Auberge Laurent, Lawrence Page and supermodel/entrepreneur
Camilla Barungi of "Project Runway" fame. The event features a silent auction with a range of luxury goods and services to bid on, including a deluxe two night stay at the SOHO Grand, tickets to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, gift certificates for noteworthy NYC restaurants, fashion items, electronics and more. In addition to a strong showing of support from a diverse young professional crowd, the event expects to draw celebrity guests from fashion, film, television and Broadway.
UCP of NYC's Santa Project began when committed supporters expressed a desire to do more during the holiday season. Beyond the core programs and services UCP of NYC delivers year round, proceeds from the Santa Project Party and Auction help fund special needs equipment requests and purchase holiday gift cards for children with disabilities in UCP of NYC's programs.
"UCP of NYC is extremely grateful this holiday season for our hosts, corporate sponsors, donors and friends." says Edward R. Matthews, CEO of United Cerebral Palsy of New York City. "Their support and concern for our neediest children and families truly exemplifies the spirit and generosity of New Yorkers."
"I am delighted to co-host the Santa Project Party and Auction with Lawrence Page," says
Camilla Barungi. "UCP of NYC reaches thousands of families and individuals with disabilities throughout New York City. I am continually impressed by the scope and magnitude of their programs and ability to positively impact people's lives."
The Santa Project Party and Auction kicks off the holiday season on December 7th, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 pm at Auberge Laurent, 200 Lenox Avenue (North East Corner of Lenox & 120th Street).
The mission of United Cerebral Palsy of New York City is to create opportunities for individuals with disabilities to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
