The Saatchi Gallery Presents CONTINENTAL SHIFT: EMERGING ARTISTS FROM SAATCHI ART, 4/2-22

Saatchi Art today announced a new group exhibition, "Continental Shift: Emerging Artists From Saatchi Art," which will open at the Saatchi Gallery in London in April. This is the first show for Saatchi Art at the Saatchi Gallery, and is part of the online gallery's off-line approach to connecting art buyers and artists from around the world.

Curated by Rebecca Wilson, chief curator at Saatchi Art, "Continental Shift" will feature works by international artists, including several showcased in Saatchi Art's "One-to-Watch" and "Invest in Art" series which highlight emerging artists of particular note.

Among the artists are Winston Chmielinski (Germany/USA); Tahnee Lonsdale (UK), shortlisted for the 2012 Dazed and Confused Emerging Artist award; Mollie Douthit (Ireland), winner of the 2013 Hennessy Craig Award of 10,000 euros; Grazyna Smalej (Poland), recipient of the Minister of Culture Grand Prix for Painting in Poland; Guang-Yu Zhang (China), a finalist of the ArtGemini Prize; and Lou Ros (France), who has had sell-out shows in many cities around the world.

In addition to the global nature of the show, the exhibition signals an important moment for Saatchi Art and for Wilson, as they both transition from their London origins to their new bases in Los Angeles. Saatchi Art first began in 2006 as Saatchi Online and was run from the Saatchi Gallery in London. In 2011, it became a separate company and now operates from headquarters in Los Angeles with Sean Moriarty as CEO.

"Continental Shift" opens to the public April 2, 2014 and will run through April 22. The exhibition will be in the Edition and Print Gallery at the Saatchi Gallery. International collectors and art lovers who are unable to attend the show will be able to see an online version of "Continental Shift" at saatchiart.com.
