We'll all have a few days off during the Holiday season, and the Paley Center in New York has some great activities for both locals looking for something to do in the city and the many tourists who will soon be visiting NYC. A great Rolling Stones exhibit with photos never seen in the US before, a mash-up of the many different versions of A Christmas Carol, and Michael Feinstein discussion about the Gershwin songbook. The Center is also releasing some of its most popular PaleyFest panels on DVD though Amazon - perfect gifts for the TV fan in your life.

This gallery exhibit-first seen at Somerset House, London, and never before exhibited in the U.S.-includes seventy rare prints including reportage, live concert and studio sessions, and outtakes, giving us an unmatched, front-row look at every period of the band's history.
To complement the photography exhibition, the Paley Center has curated a video compilation from its wide-ranging music collection, highlighting the Stones's most impressive appearances over five decades.

Television was essential in galvanizing the legions of the Rolling Stones fans. Because the group is much more than their dynamic music, it was the image of their iconoclastic sensibility and defiant attitude that rocked the first generation of fans and continues to speak to multigenerations since.

Christmas Carols: A Scrooge Mash-Up

The entire story will be told using clips from versions starring Mr. Magoo, Patrick Stewart, and Basil Rathbone among others, as well as the tale as interpreted by the casts of such shows as The Flintstones and Bugs Bunny.
