The Raleigh Ringers will present their annual Spring Concert at 3pm Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Meymandi Concert Hall at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh, NC.
In addition to The Raleigh Ringers' unique interpretations of sacred, secular, and popular music, including a little bit of rock 'n' roll, the concert will feature Virtuoso, a group of 30 advanced handbell ringers under the direction of Dr. William Payn, professor emeritus at Bucknell University.
Virtuoso is a unique three-and-a-half-day performance event sponsored by The Raleigh Ringers to challenge advanced ringers from across the country and give them the opportunity to increase their skills and perform on stage. The Raleigh Ringers is an internationally acclaimed, advanced community handbell choir based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Since its founding in 1990, The Raleigh Ringers has been dazzling concert audiences with unique interpretations of sacred, secular and popular music, including famous rock 'n' roll. The group has performed in 39 states, the District of Columbia, Canada, England, and France. In addition to touring, the group plays two concert weekends each year in Raleigh. The Raleigh Ringers sponsors annual festivals for youth and adult handbell ringers, a beginning ringers' workshop, and a read & ring for advanced ringers, in addition to teaching handbell techniques classes several times a year.
