The Pierre Announces Partnership with DOWNTON ABBEY: The Exhibition

The Pierre New York, A Taj Hotel is teaming up with Downton Abbey: The Exhibition to offer fans of the award-winning global television phenomenon a VIP experience - including an appearance by Downton's own Dr. Clarkson, actor David Robb.

As a result of an overwhelming response and attendance since the November 18th opening, the exhibition has just been extended to run through September 3rd, 2018. To celebrate, The Pierre is holding a special Downton-inspired tea on Monday April 9thand will welcome David for an exclusive meet and greet in the hotel's Two E lounge. >From 3-5pm, tea guests will have the opportunity to meet the acclaimed actor (advance reservations required) . In addition to appearing in all six seasons of Downton Abbey as the Crawley family doctor, David has had a distinguished 45-year career in television and film. (NOTE: David will be available from 2:30 - 3:00 PM for press photos by appointment.)

The Pierre is launching a new package, which includes Two E's signature tea service, VIP anytime admission tickets and a multi-media guide to Downton Abbey: The Exhibition. Conveniently located at 218 West 57th Street, just a short walk from the hotel, the exhibition connects fans with their favorite characters, costumes, locations and historic events of the era, and showcases never-before-seen footage. The fully immersive experience transports visitors on an incredible journey through the grand home of Downton Abbey, allowing them to peer into the world of the Crawleys and those that served them below stairs. From Mrs. Patmore's hectic kitchen and the gossip-fueled servants' quarters, to the family's glamorous dining room and Lady Mary's bedroom, fans have the opportunity to walk through some of the series' most recognizable and beloved sets. Visitors will even come up-close to over 50 of the show's official costumes worn by their favorite actors including Michelle Dockery, Hugh Bonneville and Dame Maggie Smith.

Before or after their exhibition visit, guests can indulge like nobility at Two E with Lady Mary's Tea Service, which features a choice of tea, freshly baked scones, Mrs. Patmore's Tea Sandwiches and a selection of decadent pastries ($65 per person). A specially curated tea menu offers black and green teas - identified as favorites of such beloved Downton characters as Matthew Crawley, Lady Sybil and Mrs. Hughes. The Dowager's Royal Tea Service (starting at $80 per person) includes all of the above, in addition to a glass of Taittinger Champagne. Guests can also enjoy perusing signature books about the show such as A Year In The Life of Downton Abbey: Seasonal Celebrations, Traditions & Recipes and Downton Abbey: Rules for the Household Staff, both of which are available to purchase at the exhibition gift shop.
