TADA! Youth Theater announces their 24th season with three great productions for the whole family. First up, The Perfect Monster, book by Janine Nina Trevens, music and lyrics by Deirdre Broderick. Followed by Princess Phooey with books and lyrics by Lisa Diana Shapiro and music by Eric Rockwell and Everything About A Family (Almost) conceived by the TADA! Resident Youth Ensemble with music and lyrics by various artists. The productions feature members of TADA!'s Resident Youth Ensemble, ages 8-18.
The Perfect Monster begins on Friday, January 18, 2008 and runs through Monday, February 18, 2008 at the TADA! Theater (15 West 28th Street)
"The Perfect Monster is a musical that follows a girl who has no friends, so she decides to make the perfect friend in her basement and ends up with a lab full of monsters," explain press notes.
TADA! will continue its season with the World Premiere of Princess Phooey with books and lyrics by Lisa Diana Shapiro and music by Eric Rockwell. "Princess Phooey is a musical fairy tale like no other. Take a journey with a rebellious princess, a collection of hilarious chambermaids and stable boys, and of course, a handsome prince." Performances: April 24 – May 18.
The final show in the 24th season will be another World Premiere, Everything About A Family (Almost), the latest in TADA!'s in the much beloved. This lively musical is conceived by the TADA! Resident Youth Ensemble and features music and lyrics by a variety of artists. Family has never been this fun! Performances: July 10 – August 8.
The Perfect Monster performances begin January 18 (through February 18). Show times are Saturdays and Sundays at 2PM & 4PM (Opening Night, Friday January 18 at 7PM. Plus January 21 (MLK day) and Presidents Day (February 18) at Noon & 2PM. School Performances: Jan. 29 & Feb. 8 at 10AM & Noon.
