The Peoples Improv Theater (The PIT) is proud to announce the latest project from the team that brought you the long-running sold out hit Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic and the epic video game and anime comedy Kapow-i GoGo: From Cold Lake by Colin Waitt, a monthly episodic comedy performed as a live radio play complete with folk band set in the fictional town of Cold Lake, MN.
Take a left at the Texaco on County Road 8, keep right when you pass the barn with the funny roof, and once you start to feel kinda lost, that's how you know you're almost there. It's the town of Cold Lake, bicentennial, and it's time to celebrate. From the ice fishing fleets to Local Artist Linda Klaver's Open Mic Night at Debbie's Bar/Bait Shop, this is their year and gosh darn if they're not gonna shine. Think A Prairie Home Companion with less nostalgia, more Martin McDonough and catchy folk songs by Tommy Crawford of the Drama Desk nominated The Lobbyists (SeaWife). Each episode is recorded in front of a live audience in the style of old radio and performed by a diverse cast of Fargo-accent actors and a live band featuring everything from a banjo to a hand saw.
From Cold Lake is written and directed by Colin Waitt, original songs and score by Tommy Crawford, and produced by Kristin McCarthy Parker and Stephen Stout. Photography by Ann Bieganek, sound design by Matt cox, and graphics design by Ellie Phillips.
Cast includes: Nick Abeel, Jennifer Bareilles, Langston Belton, Nikki Coble, Maggie Delgadillo, Kristin Friedlander, Alexander Haynes, Whitney Hudson, Patrick McCartney, Courtney Roche, and more TBA.
