The Middle School of the Arts Foundation and ADLI Present a Talk Back Session with ADLI Guest Artists Carolyn Adams and Carla Maxwell Today

The Middle School of the Arts Foundation and American Dance Legacy Initiative (ADLI) have teamed up once again to bring world renowned guest artists to Palm Beach County.

As part of the ADLI Summer RepEtudes Workshop, guest artists Carolyn Adams, ADLI Co-Founder, Paul Taylor Alumna, and founding Artistic Director of the New York State Summer School of the Arts School of Dance and Carla Maxwell, Artistic Director of the José Limón Dance Company will participate in a Talk Back Session moderated by Ric Blackwell, with the School District of Palm Beach County Education Network and weekend anchor of CBS12 News. The event will occur today, June 19, 2014 at 2:00pm.

at the Bak MSOA Studio Theatre and is open to area dance professionals, arts philanthropists, community leaders and members of the press. Both women will be available for private interviews following the talk back session during a meet and greet reception hosted by the Middle School of the Arts Foundation.

About the Workshop: Students in grades 7 - 12 throughout Palm Beach County will participate and explore the unique ADLI Repertory Etudes in this six day program which features signature works of American choreographers, while learning advanced dance techniques in this small, focused workshop. Participants will receive unprecedented access to national artists in their only South Florida workshop this summer. Limited spaces remain to participate in the workshop. The mission of the Middle School of the Arts Foundation is to develop permanent resources to ensure world-class standards of excellence in arts and academics at Bak Middle School of the Arts, which serves Palm Beach County. The Foundation's purpose is to identify and secure funding to meet needs beyond those that can be funded by the District. In keeping with the district's magnet goals, the Foundation provides financial and volunteer support for Bak's efforts to promote and expand diversity, improve achievement and focus on a unique arts curriculum. Specifically the Foundation funds Artists in Residence, which provide industry professional teachers and consultants for each of the Arts areas, as well as the unique supplies and instruments required for the students to excel in their disciplines. Bak MSOA serves over 1,350 students.
