The Laurie Beechman Theatre Announces November Events

The West Bank Café has announced upcoming performances to be presented in The Laurie Beechman Theatre. The West Bank Café is located at 407 West 42nd. St., at Ninth Avenue. For reservations, please call 212.695.6909.

The Laurie Beechman Theatre has a rich tradition of presenting cutting-edge work, which has played a role in shaping American theatre and live performance. Since the 80's, the theatre has staged numerous plays and hosted a myriad of live performance events.

This November, the theatre is proud to announce an exciting and eclectic line-up of performers and performances, all of which will take place in the gorgeous one hundred seat venue.

Please note there is a $15 food and/or beverage minimum at each performance. All major credit cards are accepted, and a full dinner/bar menu is available.

Legendary comedian and Celebrity Apprentice winner Joan Rivers brings her live stand-up act to Times Square's Laurie Beechman Theatre. Rivers presents an evening of her newest and most outrageous riffs on The Celebrity Apprentice, Hollywood, pop culture, celebrities, reality TV and award show fashion. A full dinner menu and bar are available, and pianist Lance Cruce plays from the time doors open until Joan takes the stage. Tickets are $45 with net proceeds going to Rivers' favorite charities: God's Love We Deliver and Guide Dogs for the Blind.

The Laurie Beechman Theatre is very pleased to announce two very special performances of a brand new venture, SIMPLY STREISAND, a celebration of Ms. Barbra Streisand, her legendary career and the music she made famous. Barbra has returned to New York's cabarets! At Simply Streisand, you'll hear music that spans her legendary career, from the tunes she belted out in the small nightclubs of New York, to her 70‘s disco-infused period, straight through to the mega ballads that have come to define her work. Included in the cast of Simply Streisand is a smattering of some of Broadway and Cabaret's most exciting and seasoned talents, including Lisa Asher, Christina Bianco, Jim Brochu, Stephanie D'Abruzzo, Natalie Douglas, Michelle Dowdy, Kevin Dozier, Eric Michael Gillett, Annie Golden, Larry Hamilton, Ashley Hesse, Karen Mack, Cindy Marchionda, Susie Mosher, Colleen McHugh, Mark Nadler, Christine Pedi, Miles Phillips, Julie Reyburn, Sarah Rice & Lucia Spina. Each evening is hosted by Director Phil Geoffrey Bond, who will fill the audience in on special Streisand facts, rumors, tidbits and out and out gossip.

Legions of Coco-philes know that Miss Peru's acclaimed solo shows fearlessly explore all facets of human nature, expertly turning darkness into illumination. "This time," explains Coco, "I've decided to do something a little different. I wanted to try something a bit lighter, a night of pure fun." Thus, MISS Coco Peru: THERE COMES A TIME begins at her friend Bea Arthur's memorial at The Majestic Theatre (Coco's Broadway debut!), segues into her turn as the HIV-positive drag queen Angel in the original backers audition of Rent, and continues on with a litany of wryly pointed observations of life as only Miss Coco Peru can deliver.

Le Scandal Cabaret is NYC's longest running burlesque variety show. In its ninth year, Le Scandal features variety acts, circus performers, live music and a bevy of burlesque beauties. ringfinger: a cabaret about equality

In 2004, ringfinger was a call to action. Now, ringfinger celebrates how far we have come and how far we will go. This updated version of ringfinger looks at DOMA, Civil Unions, Social Incentives, Show Tunes and the facets of equality beyond marriage vows. All proceeds will benefit Queer Rising. Legendary singer Sarah Dash will workshop her new cabaret show at to the Laurie Beechman Theatre for two performances (also November 17 at 7:30 PM). The show will include songs from throughout her career, as well as songs new to her repertoire, accompanied by reminiscences and anecdotes about some of the people she has worked alongside. With a career spanning almost 50 years, in her teens Sarah Dash formed the Del Capris, a vocal group which later merged with another group to form Patti LaBelle and the Bluebells, noted for hits like "I Sold My Heart to the Junk Man." The group morphed into Labelle, a futuristic trio comprised of Patti LaBelle, Nona Hendryx, and Sarah, which from 1971 to 1977 released iconic records like "Lady Marmalade." As a solo artist, Sarah Dash has had success across many genres, from disco ("Sinner Man") to inspirational/gospel (her recent album "The Seventh Child"). She has sung with some of the greatest names in pop, rock and R&B, among them The Rolling Stones, Alice Cooper, The Marshall Tucker Band, Laura Nyro, The O'Jays, Wilson Pickett and Bo Diddley. She has appeared on shows with hundreds of renowned recording artists - from Keith Richards to Stevie Wonder.
