FRIGID New York @ Horse Trade will present the first annual Queerly, a festival seen through lavender-colored glasses, June 25-July 3 at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery) and UNDER St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place between 1st Avenue and Avenue A). We take the everyday experiences, jokes and stories of being Southern, Canadian, a person of color, a sports fan, a misfit, a redhead and view them through the lens of queer identity. A celebration of this diverse, strong, sharing-minded community told through stories, songs, poetry and plays. Tickets ($8-$15) may be purchased in advance at www.horseTRADE.info. The BTK Band: LGBTK Monday, June 28 @ 8pm $10 The Kraine (85 East 4th Street) The BTK Band will reunite for their yearly LGBTK show in honor of Pride. They got their start way back in 2007 in the upstairs lounge at The Stonewall Inn and this show will continue the madness of NYC's Hardest-Drinking Improvised Storytelling Rock Band. With some of the greatest storytellers and a crew of go-go dancers representing the whole spectrum, The BTK Band will once again don the mantle of BTGay.
With You! Wednesday, July 1 @ 7pm $15 The Kraine (85 East 4th Street) With You! is a queer sports rom-com, about a team's love for the game and each other, all brought to the stage via one woman's body. This is the newest show by award-winning writer/performer Una Aya Osato. A college rugby team struggles to save the only sport and safe space on campus for queer athletes. This show pays homage to a unique and hilarious subculture, college rugby, a sport and place where all people and bodies are welcome.

On Wednesday, July 1 the monthly Rat goes Rainbow-licious, with an art and entertainment supernova -- glam-punk, opera, brilliant comedy, storytelling -- celebrating Other-ness, nerdiness, sexiness, coming-of-age, coming to grips, coming out, getting better, for everyone: gay, straight and in-between.
Trans Variety Show Thursday, July 2 @ 7pm $15 UNDER St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place) Some of NYC's finest transgender musicians, dancers, comedians, actors, and performance artists share an evening onstage. The evening is curated by trans curators, nearly all of the material is written by trans writers, directed by trans directors, and, of course, performed by trans performers.
Queerly Southern Friday, July 3 @ 8pm $15 UNDER St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place Tonight we celebrate the Great Gay South, featuring storytelling from David Crabb (author and storyteller), Dandy Darkly, premiering work and new threads from his new show Trigger Happy, and Lucas Womack, a proud Southern queer writer/performer, originally from Sweetwater, Tennessee, the most populous city in Monroe county, population 6000.
FRIGID New York is a theater development group with a focus on new work that produces a massive quantity of stimulating downtown theater every season. FRIGID's Resident Artist Program offers a home to a select group of Independent theater artists, pooling together a great deal of talent and energy. FRIGID New York grew out of the annual FRIGID Festival, the first and only festival of its kind in New York City to offer artists 100% of their box office proceeds, and Horse Trade Theater Group, a self-sustaining theater development and management group.
