The King's Speech...Teacher? Colin Firth in Consideration for Rumored Lincoln Center Revival of MY FAIR LADY

Michael Riedel of the New York Post has reported that Lincoln Center may be courting Academy Award-winner, Colin Firth, for a rumored revival of the timeless classic, "My Fair Lady."

In an e-mail to Riedel, Andre Bishop, the head of Lincoln Center Theater, confirmed their interest in producing the show stating, ""We are interested in doing the show (who wouldn't be!), but we do not have the rights!!"

Riedel reports that the rights to the show are currently held by the Neaderlander Organization following a thwarted attempt to mount a revival of the musical in 2013. The revival, which had A-listers Carey Mulligan and Anne Hathaway in consideration for the role of Eliza Doolittle, was reportedly derailed due to a number of scheduling conflicts.

This would be the show's first Broadway revival since the 1994 production starring Melissa Errico and Richard Chamberlain.
