The Jewish Museum is presenting Let the Colors Roar! Family Day for Jack Goldstein, a fun-filled multi-generational event celebrating the exhibition Jack Goldstein x 10,000 on Sunday, May 19 from 12 noon to 4 pm. Activities include two performances by Jukebox Radio, a huge drop-in art workshop, painting sessions, and family tours. This event is free with Museum admission.
The May 19 program is for children ages 3 and up. Adults are asked to accompany their children. Children can dance and sing with Jukebox Radio in an entertaining show mixing music, puppets, and more into an imaginative performance for all ages. This unique band fuses musical genres such as pop, folk, rocksteady, and jazz, and showcases playful tunes and shadow puppetry inspired by the art of Jack Goldstein.
Jukebox Radio is a vibrant group of young performers brought together by composer Mark Dzula. The ensemble features Joe Ancowitz (trumpet), Geoff Countryman (baritone saxophone), Dan Dzula (drums), Mark Dzula (guitar and vocals), Devin Maxwell (vibraphone), David Steinberg (tenor saxophone), Chloe Walker (vocals), Kyle Younger (bass), Chris Rozzi (puppets), Tim Cavaretta (puppets and tech), and David Herman (tech). Jukebox Radio has performed at the Knitting Factory, Galapagos Art Space, the DUMBO Art Festival, and other U.S. events and venues.
