The Iridium, the legacy jazz/rock room that multi-Grammy winner Les Paul called home for over 14 years, will be featuring a pair of special performances leading up to the return of the Grammy Awards to New York City.
On Tuesday, January 23 Fieldhouse BMG's emerging artists concert series will welcome back alt-rock band January Jane and critically-acclaimed singer/songwriter Sophie Auster. Both acts first performed as part of the series in 2017 leading to them being signed by BMG, an ultimate goal for the monthly showcase created as a means of discovering, nurturing, and promoting the very best up and coming talent in the country today.
"We started this series back in July 2017 hoping that it would turn into a launch pad for artists on the rise," says Grace Blake, Producer & General Manager at The Iridium. "It has exceeded all of our expectations, and having January Jane and Sophie Auster back on The Iridium stage as signed artists during Grammy week felt like a perfect way of celebrating."
On Friday, January 26 The Iridium will also welcome back the Grammy Jazz Band as they play their first show in New York City since 2003. The Grammy Band is the world's oldest continually operating national all-star jazz program. Hundreds of the top high school musicians from around the United States compete for a spot each year, and the selected members form an elite big band for one week only, performing at official Grammy Week events and at premiere jazz venues. A portion of ticket purchases will go toward the Grammy Museum's education initiatives such as this one.
Tickets to the Tuesday, January 23 edition of "Mondays at The House" and the Friday, January 26 Grammy Jazz Band performances are on sale now and available on TicketWeb via www.theiridium.com, or The Iridium box office located at 1650 Broadway at 51st Street, 212.582.2121.
