The Gateway Playhouse's production of A Chorus Line begins performances September 16th on Long Island, in Bellport, NY.

Directed and Choreographed by Mitzi Hamilton, and musical direction by Jason Wetzel, the production will run through October 11th. Book by James Kirkwood & Nicholas Dante, Music by Marvin Hamlisch, and Lyrics by Edward Kleban, A Chorus Line is a musical-verite about Broadway dancers auditioning for a chance at a spot on ‘the line' (the chorus line). The cast features Kevin Neil McCready (Zach), Colin Bradbury (Larry), Kiira Schmidt (Cassie), Emily Jan Bender (Sheila), Melissa Manning (Val), Christine LaDuca (Diana), Erika Odegard (Judy), Mary Giattino (Kristine), Tiffany Topol (Maggie), Lauryn Ciardullo (Bebe), Jessica Wu (Connie), Jonathan Hoover (Mike), Donald C. Shorter Jr. (Richie), Matthew Ferretti (Don), Yamil De Jesus (Paul), Kit Treece (Mark), Jeremy Bohmstein (Greg), Warren Freeman (Bobby), and Vincent Ortega (Al). The ensemble comprises Jamel Hudson, Sean Quinn, Jenna Schoen, Bryant Smith, Amanada Thiele, and Bailey Whitney.

A Chorus Line debuted on Broadway on July 25th, 1975, and ran through April 28th, 1990, totaling 6137 performances. Originally conceived, directed and choreographed by Michael Bennett (with Co-Choreography by Bob Avian), the musical won 10 Tony Awards (including a speciAl Gold Tony Award in 1984), including best musical, and also won the Pulitzer Prize. Memorable musical numbers include "I Can Do That", "At the Ballet", "Dance: Ten; Looks: Three, The Music and the Mirror", "What I Did for Love", "One (Singular Sensation)" and "I Hope I Get It".

The production design team includes Kim Hanson (lights) and Jose Rivera (costumes). Dom Ruggiero is the production stage manager.
