The Garden of Dreams Foundation and patients and staff from NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital will come together for a ribbon cutting ceremony today, Thursday, May 9 at 12:00 p.m. to unveil the refurbishments in the Children's Diagnostic Radiology Center made possible by a grant from the Foundation.
This represents Garden of Dreams' largest contribution for any refurbishing project to date, with the commitment to create a more comfortable, soothing, and child- and family-friendly atmosphere for the 11,500 children who receive treatment each year for everything from sports-related injuries to life threatening diseases. The space, which has not been refurbished in over 25 years, includes a breathtaking 130 ft mural by renowned artist, James Kimak. Additionally, there are new ceilings, lighting, wall protection, flooring, and fresh paint.
At 12:30 p.m., after the ribbon cutting, Garden of Dreams will host festivities and performances for patients in the hospital's Wintergarden area.
The Garden of Dreams Foundation is nonprofit charitable organization that works with all areas of The Madison Square Garden Company, including the Knicks, the Rangers, the Liberty, MSG Entertainment, MSG Networks and Fuse, to make dreams come true for children facing obstacles.
