Henry Winkler to Star in Broadway Porn Comedy Opposite Cheyenne Jackson?

The actor Henry Winkler, best known as the Fonz from Happy Days, may star opposite Cheyenne Jackson as an ageing porn star in THE PERFORMERS, a new comedy about the porn industry by David West Read.

"The Fonz — who in real life goes by the name Henry Winkler — is in negotiations to star on Broadway next season in “The Performers,” a new comedy by David West Read about the porn industry," writes Michael Riedel in today's New York Post.

The show will be directed by Evan Cabnet.

Winkler has appeared on stage, film, and television throughout his long career. Henry Winkler's previous Broadway credits include the Original Broadway Production of The Dinner Party in 2000 and 42 Seconds from Broadway in 1973. His most notable television appearance were as The Fonz in Happy Days and as Barry Zuckercorn in Arrested Development. He appeared in his first pantomime at the New Wimbledon Theatre, London in 2006, playing Captain Hook in Peter Pan, replacing David Hasselhoff who pulled out when he was offered a TV role by Simon Cowell. He reprised the role in Woking, England for Christmas 2007.
 
Cheyenne Jackson has been featured in Broadway shows including XANADU, FINIAN'S RAINBOW, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, and AIDA. He's been seen in such television shows such as 30 ROCK, GLEE, UGLY BETTY, and CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM. In addition, he also recently filmed a pilot for USA co-starring Nathan Lane
