On Friday, February 1, the Farnsworth Art Museum and The Strand Theatre will kick-off the second year of their very successful International short film series: Rockland Shorts. The February 2013 screening, entitled Trials and Tribulations, will take place at The Strand Theatre, 345 Main Street in Rockland, at 8 p.m.
Begun in 2012, Rockland Shorts is an ongoing series of short creative films that strive to show contemporary, questing, independent film production from around the world. These films help to define the digital generation without restriction to culture, format, formula or genre. The evening will include an hour of short art films, followed by interviews with directors present in The Strand and those who appear on screen via Skype.

The doors will open at 7:30 p.m. for music and the theatre's balcony bar will be open. After the program, audience members are encouraged to go across Main Street to Fog Bar to continue the discussion about Rockland Shorts and the world of films. Films tickets will be sold at the door prior to the screening. Farnsworth members: $8.50; nonmembers: $7.50.
