The Emelin Theatre Confirms 'Los Lobos' and More.

The Emelin Theatre's new era of music programming adds to its list of achievements with a concert by three-time Grammy-winners Los Lobos on April 16. Following the season kick-off with Paula Cole on September 27, the most extensive season of programming at the Emelin to date will also feature concerts by acclaimed folk singer-songwriter Dar Williams (October 4), indie rockers Syd, Milton and Creaky Boards (October 11), bluegrass legend Tony Trischka (October 17), Spring Awakening auteur Duncan Sheik (October 18), country music chart-topper BRyan White (October 24) and Tony Award-winner and jazz singer Ann Hampton Callaway (October 25). In addition to the great concerts coming up this fall the Emelin's 2008-2009 season will feature film, music, family programs and more.  (Please see attached for complete schedule of performances.)

The Emelin's season of music performances features its well-known Bluegrass, Folk and In Concert series along with its launch of five new series: Indie Rock, Latin, Country, Popular Song and Emelin Unplugged. Los Lobos, perhaps the most successful Mexican-American music group ever, help launch the new Latin series with their blend of American rock and Mexican popular music. Highlights for the other series include American Idol's Bo Bice, Grammy nominated Sones de Mexico, Edwin McCain ("I'll Be"), Loudon Wainwright III, "LA Law" stars Jill Eikenberry & Michael Tucker, Lesley Gore ("Its My Party"), Grammy Award-winner Laurie Lewis, Country star and CMA Award-winner BRyan White, Grammy Award-winner Janis Ian and many more. With the diversity of concerts coming up, from country music crooner BRyan White to Broadway legend Ann Hampton Callaway to Leonel "Papo" Ortega's Cubanoson (December 13), the Emelin is the place in Westchester to find great concerts.

The Emelin's family programming this year expands its strong tradition of quality, fun and enriching performing arts events for younger audiences with more shows throughout the season. Super Saturdays: Family Fun highlights include the highly praised black light puppet show, The Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia's The Very Hungry Caterpillar, celebrated folk singer Tom Chapin, several books brought to life by Theatreworks USA productions, kindie rockers Hot Peas N' Butter, as well as Film Club Jr. in collaboration with the New York International Children's Film Festival.
