LAKE WORTH: As the primary supporter of cultural organizations in Palm Beach County, the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County is hosting the third annual "SmARTBiz Summit" on
Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. in order to strengthen the connections between cultural o
rganizations and the business community.

"Arts and cultural organizations make up a significant number of the jobs in Palm Beach County, said Rena Blades, President and CEO of the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, "and as one of the largest producers of jobs, it benefits our community to make sure the arts thrive so the economy of Palm Beach County thrives."

The daylong event consists of seminars presented by business leaders like William Koch, CEO of Oxbow Carbon LLC, who will discuss his personal philanthropic vision, and his views on how businesses and the arts relate. Interactive learning sessions for local businesses, not-for-profits and cultural organizations will take place throughout the day, including one by writer and consultant Andy Goodman, about how good causes can reach more people. PNC bank, the co-creator of SmARTBiz with the Cultural Council, is leading the financial wellness sessions. PNC Bank Regional President, Craig Grant says "We know that a vibrant arts scene improves our region by creating jobs, boosting tourism and generating revenue. But access to the arts can also make a profound difference in the lives of individuals and communities, which is why SmARTBiz is such a vital resource for our continued growth."

SmARTBiz 2013 is sponsored by PNC Bank, Crystal & Company, Holyfield & Thomas.
