The Creative Team Announced for ONE NATION, ONE MISSION, ONE PROMISE Image

One Nation, One Mission, One Promise - An American Story, currently playing at The Players Theatre for a limited run, is an innovative play audiences are calling "absorbing, great acting, must see, profound and relevant."

To bring this unique story about America's collective history celebrating its diverse citizenship in a time where it is being challenged and questioned, director Victoria Medina has surrounded the production with a very gifted group of Broadway and theater veterans.

Musical Director Andrew Beall, hailed by New York Classical Review as a "spectacularly virtuosic," international soloist and composer whose works have been performed around the world, guides the underlying music by taking the audience on a journey through time. Andrew's powerful musical opening Leaders of the Free World immediately informs the audience they are in for an exciting and unique adventure.

Working alongside is composer, guitarist and arranger Steven Beall (also Andrew's uncle), and together they have personally selected each musical number to enhance the story. Steven's stunning guitar compositions, along with Andrew's traces of percussion, guide the audience's journey through the ups and downs of the challenges each character endures - characters like Deborah Sampson, Mother Jones and Friedrich von Steuben. Together, Andrew Beall and Steven Beall lift, enhance and elevate these powerful stories.

Ms. Medina was thrilled to also add choreographer Ernest Felton Baker to the team as he is a multidisciplinary dance and film artist whose primary goal is to create work that challenges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart through the art of storytelling. Baker has certainly done just that with One Nation, One Mission, One Promise - An American Story. He has combined both traditional dance sequences and stage choreography to elevate the audiences experience. The story embraces all American cultures and Ernest pays tribute by honoring each culture with a modern touch. Among Ernest's many prior achievements, he was nationally recognized in 2009 by YoungArts as the first and only U.S. Presidential Scholar to be awarded in Hip Hop Dance on behalf of former President Barack Obama.

When Lisa Renee Jordan joined the team, Victoria knew she was working with a woman who looked at fashion through a very unique lens. One Nation, One Mission, One Promise - An American Story tells the stories of several different characters and moves through different periods throughout American history. Lisa, who has been previously nominated for a Drama Desk Award and has worked in every area of the theater community from Fringe to Broadway, knows how to get the heart of the costume design vision. Each character has a unique look and is outfitted with specific accessories and elements.

The cast includes Odysseus Bailer, James Cougar Canfield, Kelsey Lea Jones, Jeff MacKinnon, Emelie Pla, Emma Romasco, Dana Scurlock, and Samantha Talbott.

The creative team consists of artists Victoria Medina (Playwright, Director, Producer), Layon Gray (Consulting Producer), Andrew Beall (Musical Director/Composer), Steven Beall (Composer), Ernest Felton Baker (Choreographer), Lisa Renee Jordan (Costume Designer), Robert Shetterly (Consulting Artist), Erin Elizabeth Nihill (Set & Lighting Designer), Jennifer Snowdon (Makeup Consultant), Emily Pierce (Production Stage Manager) and Kalen Sierra Hughes (Assistant Stage Manager).
