The Cleveland Museum of Art to Deploy Pexip Infinity to Scale Their Long Distance Learning Programs

Pexip, a global disrupter in scalable video conferencing technology, today announced that the Cleveland Museum of Art is deploying Pexip Infinity to scale their distance learning programs.

The Cleveland Museum of Art's award-winning distance learning program connects students and others from all over the country and beyond with the museum to enrich their study of history, languages, science, math, and the visual arts. Through live videoconferencing, participants view art and artifacts from around the world while sharing in two-way conversations with museum educators. The program has been recognized with the highest awards in its field: the CILC Pinnacle Award and the Teachers' Choice award.

Since its inception in the late 1990s the museum's Distance Learning program required participating sites to have standard videoconferencing equipment, as was customary at that time. This represented a significant investment in hardware and technical support. Today as alternate delivery systems become available, the museum is eager to make participating in their presentations as simple as possible for sites everywhere. In just a few minutes students will be able to establish high quality connections with the museum from any device the end users prefer.

The CMA's Distance Learning program has reached over 100,000 participants since its beginning in 1999. Cleveland Museum of Art is one of the world's most distinguished comprehensive art museums and one of northeastern Ohio's principal civic and cultural institutions.
