The cell, Nancy Manocherian (Founding Artistic Director) and Kira Simring (Artistic Director) are innovatively Livestreaming a Talk-Back, Thursday March 8, 2012 in conjunction with their World Premiere production of Seamus Scanlon's DANCING AT LUNACY and Larry Kirwan's BLOOD, directed by Kira Simring.

This series, The Irish Cell is currently playing a limited engagement at the cell (338 West 23rd Street New York, NY 10011). Performances began Thursday, March 1 and continue through Monday, March 19. Press are invited to any performance.

On Thursday, March 8th at 8pm, Peter Filichia, author and theater Critic visits the cell to lead an informative conversation about the plays. Joined by the playwrights Scanlon and Kirwan, plus the co-Artistic Directors Manocherian and Simring. The lively discussion will be Livestreamed to livestream.com/kenhypesandfriends where virtual audiences can participate, discuss, tweet, and ask questions.

On Monday, March 19th at 8pm, An Irishman, a Black man and a Jewish man walk into a bar...hosted by the cell! This is no joke, find out what the IRA, the PLO, and the Black Panthers have in common. The discussion including experts like Larry Kirwan, will explore the histories of these organizations, shedding light on the dark subject of extremism in the 21st century.

The cell theatre combines the one-act plays of Larry Kirwan, lead singer of Black47, and Seamus Scanlon, writer of Irish short stories, into an evening of provocative, inimitably Irish theater. Dancing At Lunacy and Blood explore the highly charged issue of Irish Republicanism and how it still affects the Irish psyche.

The Irish Cell plays the following schedule through Monday, March 19: Thursdays – Saturdays at 8 p.m.  (Added performance on the 19th at 8 p.m.) Tickets are $12 and are now available online at www.thecelltheatre.org or by calling 1-800-838-3006.
