The Black & White Blues, the "New Orleans Restaurant Musical" direct from its 3rd smash year in The Big Easy, is set to serve it up in The Big Apple in the 2005-2006 Season at the Laurie Beechman Theater at West Bank Café 407 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues.  The show will begin performances on January 19th, 2006 and will officially open on February 9th.

"This hilarious southern-flavored musical revue is a hilarious look at the trials and tribulations of waiters, waitresses and the customers they serve," according to press notes.  The Black & White Blues features book and lyrics by Ricky Graham and music by Harry Mayronne, who is also the musical director.

"The storyline of this witty experience in restaurant purgatory sets four waiters singing and dancing their way through bitchy customers, conquering the waiter lingo, working under the watchful eye of "management" and having visions of The Fairy God-waitress, complete with big hair, magic wand and order pad.  With song titles like 'The Cocktail Conga' and 'Four Course Nightmare,' celebrity chef impersonations of Emeril Lagasse, Martha Stewart and an angelic Julia Child dueling in 'Cookin' on TV,' and the showstopper 'Pork Sushi,' about raw pork wrapped in seaweed - this campy outrageous hit has it all!"

The show is directed by Ricky Graham and Heidi P. Junius, with performers Heidi P. Junius (also the choreographer), Jessie Terrebonne, Chris Wecklein, and Bob Edes Jr., all from the original production in the Big Easy.  Mayronne returns to the show in the Big Apple as musical director as well.  The costumes are reinterpreted by original designer Cecile Casey Covert.

The show will be produced in New York by Martian Entertainment, Loeber Entertainment and Some People.   Media relations will be handled by Max Wixom at Martian Media, Advertising by Eliran Murphy Group and Marketing will be handled by Erin Auerbach at Martian Media.

The Black & White Blues features talent straight from the Big Easy.  Due to Hurricane Katrina, which touched down on August 29th 2005, the show was almost destroyed.  Most cast members have had to flee the state while New Orleans was under water.  In a ray of hope, this production in New York will defeat the losses caused by the weather in NOLA, by employing New Orleans residents and featuring the flavor of one of the most culturally rich cities in America to a national and international audience.

Showtimes will be Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 PM, Fridays and Saturdays at 11 PM.  The show runs 90 minutes with one 10 minute intermission.  Tickets will be available by calling Ticket Central, at 212.279.4200 or at the Ticket Central Box Office at 416 West 42nd Street.  Tickets cost $45 dollars for General Admission to the 120-seat house.
