The Barracuda Theatre Club is proud to announce the world premiere of The Painter by Reginald Oldham, the third project of its inaugural season. The Barracuda Theatre Club is a spin-off of The Barrow Group (TBG) Apprentice Class. The TBG Apprentice Class is designed for up-and-coming theatre artists who complete a rigorous nine-month training program including script analysis, scene study, monologue work, and film and TV classes under the guidance of Co-Artistic Directors Seth Barrish and Lee Brock. The Barracuda Theatre Club, much like the Bats at the Flea Theatre, are an ancillary company founded by 2007's apprentices Lyndsay Becker, Jamey Isenor, Allyson Morgan, and Reggie Oldham, in order to continue putting the Barrow Group work into practice. The Barracuda Theatre Club last presented the first New York revival of John Cariani's Almost, Maine in September 2007 and Robert Attenweiler's Torrents in April 2008.
The Barrow Group (TBG) is the epicenter of an artistic movement toward truthfulness and spontaneity in the theatre arts, television, film, music, and design. Barrow Group artists and audience members gravitate toward one idea: unplanned behavior is more interesting and powerful than planned behavior. With this idea as their guiding principle, TBG artists employ and develop continually evolving practical tools that maximize spontaneity in order to provide audiences with a more active and transformative experience.
The cast features Reggie Oldham as Michael, Hope Singsen as Christine, and Ryan Stadler as John.
The company includes Amanda Anderson as the Stage Manager, Lyndsay Becker as Props/Costume Designer, Autumn Clark as the Light/Sound Designer and Jamey Isenor as the Director.
The show will be September 26-29 and October 3-6, 2008 @ 8:00 PM, and September 27 and October 4 @ 2:00 PM at the TBG Arts Center: 312 W 36th Street, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10018
