The FOX hit musical GLEE has had episodes devoted to artists before, notably Lady Gaga and Madonna. Just in time for this fall's upcoming season, one group has expressed an interest in joining their company: The Backstreet Boys

"It's an amazing show. Of course we would do it," Backstreet Boys frontman Nick Carter told Hollyscoop. To date, the show has not covered any of the boy band's hit songs. Whether or not this season will change that remains to be seen, but the Backstreet Boys are certainly interested.

GLEE made its sophomore return to prime time last fall with an astounding 12.3 million viewers tuning in to the Season 2 premiere. The anticipation and excitement for Glee music reached new heights with over 250,000 new tracks downloaded in the first 48 hours available. This incredible response yielded more record breaking moments for Glee; it's the first time all singles from any episode simultaneously appeared in the top 10 of iTunes Top Songs chart. Additionally, the GLEE Cast version of Jay-Z's anthem "Empire State of Mind" has the single highest first day sales for any Glee track released to date.

For more than 17 years, Backstreet Boys have delivered the very finest pop music has to offer -tightly crafted songs, floor-shaking rhythms, and unmistakable harmonies. One of the most successful groups in music history, with countless #1s, record-setting tours, and worldwide sales in excess of 100 million, Backstreet Boys are also among pops most influential. The band made history when all tickets for their greatly anticipated 11-week, 39-city Millennium North American Arena Tour sold out as soon as they went on sale- the vast majority within an hour. At the time the millennium tour set a ticket master record by selling 735,000 tickets in two hours. They are also among the few bands to have received the Diamond Award from the R.I.A.A. for sales of more than 10 million on both the Backstreet Boy's and Millennium albums. The band is currently wrapping up a worldwide tour in support of their recent album, This is Us. More information at www.backstreetboys.com.
