The Arctic Group is proud to announce the launch of the 1st New York International FRIDGE Festival (yes, fridge.)
Born in response to the news that the NY Fringe Festival would not take place in the summer of 2017, FRIDGE Fest is a multidisciplinary theater festival featuring new works of all genres. Audiences can expect a run of unique, thought-provoking plays by both established and emerging artists. All plays include - nay, feature - a fridge.
Half of all the performances at FRIDGE Fest will be Fill Our Fridge nights, in which tickets can be purchased with non-perishable goods instead of money. All these donations will be delivered to City Harvest, an organization that provides food to community food programs throughout New York City. All 9pm shows will be Fill Our Fridge Nights.
Each ticket-holder will see two plays in one evening. Audience members are kindly asked to stay for both shows, a total of 80 minutes, with a brief (and musical) intermission between shows.
The festival features 10 new plays by 10 playwrights. They are: Moving Day by Jenny King, Rock Paper Scissors by Suzanne Willett, Nick and Zoe by Daniel Talbott, Sad Indie Love Song by Steve McMahon, Funny Voices, Or A Thing I Cannot Name, by Matthew Minnicino, Two Below Zero by MJ Halberstadt, Scarcity Freezer by Glenn Marla, no seconds by Korde Arrington Tuttle, Joy by Katie Cappiello, and What's In Your Fridge? by Jordan G. Teicher.
