The American Museum of Natural History, in conjunction with Conservation International, Fordham University, United Nations Development Programme, United Nations Foundation, and Wildlife Conservation Society, announces the North American launch of the International Year of Biodiversity.
The U.N. has designated 2010 as the International Year of Biodiversity to raise global awareness of the immense variety of life on Earth and the complex relations among living things, and to invite action to safeguard the essential networks on which all life-including humans-depends.
