The Adelphi Orchestra now in its 65th season of Music for All presents From Vienna with Love under the baton of Music Director & Conductor Richard Owen. The Concert features Randall Mitsuo Goosby, Violin (First Prize winner of the Adelphi Orchestra Competition, First Prize winner of the Sphinx Competition ) in the rarely performed and exquisitely beautiful Korngold Violin Concerto.
The program opens with Strauss' Overture to Die Fledermaus and dramatically concludes with the beautiful Brahms's Symphony No. 2 in D major.

Highlights of its ambitious 65th season, include collaborations with exceptional young soloists: Randall Mitsuo Goosby , Violin (Co-First Prizewinner of the Adelphi Orchestra Competition, First Prize winner of the Sphinx Competition ), Drew Petersen , Piano (2018 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient, 2017 American Pianists Awards First place recipient), Bryan Cheng Cello (Co-First Prizewinner of the Adelphi Orchestra Competition, 2017 Canada Council for the Arts Michael Measures Prize) in exquisite programs of Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Korngold and Brahms. Adelphi will again present a Children's Concert, the Nutcracker Ballet (with Julie Dance and the Donetsk Ballet) as well as various chamber, choral and symphonic programs throughout New Jersey and New York.
The Adelphi Orchestra is a professional, non-profit orchestra performing symphonic, chamber, operatic and dance concerts. For the past 15 years, the Adelphi Orchestra has sponsored a Young Artist Competition and Young Artist Concerts throughout New Jersey and the New York metropolitan area. The Adelphi Orchestra presents concerts with accomplished national and international guest soloists and distinguished conductors. Nominated by its peers for the past 3 years in the Jersey Arts People's Choice Award in the Favorite Orchestra/Symphony Division, the Adelphi Orchestra is a member of the League of Orchestras and Opera America. The orchestra is currently under the direction of Music Director Richard Owen. It is northern New Jersey's longest continuously performing orchestra and a member of the New Jersey cultural community for 65 years. The mission of the Adelphi Orchestra is to serve the musical and educational needs of the citizens of New Jersey, with special emphasis given to families with young children, seniors and those with limited financial means. Violinist Randall Mitsuo Goosby (22) has made solo appearances with several major orchestras across the U.S. including the New York Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra, and New World Symphony, among others. He has also made two solo appearances at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium as part of the Sphinx Organization's Young Artist Development Program.
In addition to performing, Randall is passionate about sharing his love for music and has participated in outreach programs for public schools, children's hospitals, and music programs across the country. Randall has recently joined the roster of Concerts in Motion, a non-profit organization providing live concerts to homebound, hospitalized, or otherwise isolated individuals throughout New York City. Randall is also a member of the violin faculty at Opportunity Music Project, a non-profit organization providing free music lessons and mentorship to children from low-income families in New York City.
Randall completed his Bachelor's Degree in Violin Performance at The Juilliard School, where he studied with world-renowned violinists Itzhak Perlman and Catherine Cho. Randall will remain at Juilliard in the Fall to pursue a Master's Degree, studying with Donald Weilerstein and Laurie Smukler. Randall is a proud recipient of a Kovner Fellowship from The Juilliard School.

Richard Owen is celebrating his seventh season as conductor and is the music director of the Adelphi Orchestra. Combining a successful career as a conductor, entrepreneur, pianist and organist, Maestro Owen is also music director of Camerata NY Orchestra and St. Jean Baptiste Church (NYC). He was formerly on the conducting staff of the NY Philharmonic (cover conductor) as well as the Deutsche Oper am Rhein(Duesseldorf). Mo. Owen has made several conducting debuts including with the Little Opera Theater of New York (Gluck's The Reformed Drunkard), with Rioult Dance (M. Torke's Iphigenia) the Center for Contemporary Opera (Night of the Living Dead) and Carmina Burana with the Montreal Symphony, conducting alongside Mo. Kent Nagano. He has conducted symphony orchestras in Duisburg, Dusseldorf, Rzeszow, Jacksonville, Monterrey, Belgrade as well as the Staatskapelle Weimar, the Europa Symphony, the Silesian Philharmonic, the Baltic Opera and the Pacific Symphony. Mr. Owen graduated from Dartmouth College, where he was a recipient of a piano scholarship. He studied piano, accompanying and conducting at the Manhattan School of Music and at the University for Music and the Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria. A native New Yorker, Mr. Owen is committed to the cultural growth of the New York Metro/Northern New Jersey by presenting a diverse repertoire to all generations.
