On Sunday, March 28, Macy's Herald Square will launch the 36th annual Macy's Flower Show, wherein visitors will experience a floral sanctuary as the main floor of the world's largest store is transformed into a massive living garden, beginning on March 28th. The launch event will begin with a fitting salute by choreographer Twyla Tharp and the cast of Come Fly Away in an official ribbon-cutting ceremony to kick off the pets on parade fashion show hosted by Lady Bunny. The festivities begin at Macy's Herald Square at 11:00am.
The day's continuing celebrations will include a very special appearance by Sadie, this year's winner of the Westminster Dog Show in the Star Spot Gazebo, as well as, Macy's Garden Variety Theatre which will feature performances by Brooklyn's own tween rock group Care Bears on Fire, Off-Broadway's Gazillion Bubble Show, and Imaginocean with a puppet demonstration from creator John Tartaglia.
Also, children's author Laura Numeroff will read excerpts from her award-winning books including "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" and "If You Give a Pig a Pancake." Lastly, directly from the touring cast of 101 Dalmations the Musical, animal trainer Joel Slavin along with some members of the cast will demonstrate their show-stopping tricks.
In addition to the numerous in-store and outdoor activities and events taking place, there will be an ASPCA mobile adoption van onsite with adult cats who need loving homes.
As always, the spectacular Bouquet of the Day masterpiece created by Jeff Leathem will be on display in the center of the Main Aisle. For more information on the event, click here.
