Olympia Entertainment invites experienced actors, singers and dancers to audition for new hit musical, "He Lives", the story of Jesus Christ as seen through the eyes of Matthew on December 29, 2009, at the Music Hall located 350 Madison Street in Detroit.
"He Lives," is the concept of Billy Osborne, who is a talented musician and producer in his own right, but also the brother of Jeffery Osborne, a multi Grammy award winning R&B singer.
Angela Barrow-Dunlap, who wrote the play, along with others in the business will judge live auditions, but the taped vocal performances will be mailed to Grammy Award Winning Producer Terry Lewis, and Osborne for final picks.
"This is a great opportunity for Metro Detroit actors, singers and dancers," says Barrow-Dunlap.
"Singers chosen for this musical will work with Terry Lewis, who has produced for many great artists including Prince, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Gwen Stefani, Rob Stewart, Usher, Mary J. Blige to name a few." said Barrow-Dunlap.
Lewis holds this project close and embarks on it with reverence.
"This is a very important project to me," said Lewis.
"I've had the opportunity to work with some of the best in the business, and I hold this musical in high esteem as my most important work."
The musical is scheduled to launch an international tour in fall 2010.
Dance auditions will start at 2 p.m., and dancers should be warmed up and ready to perform. Vocal auditions begin at 6 p.m. Singers should prepare 16 bars of a song that shows off their voices. An accompanist will be provided.
Experienced performers ages 8 and up of all ethnicities are encouraged to attend. All artists must bring a resume and a professional head shot.
