Terrence Mann and Charlotte d'Amboise, stars of the current Broadway hit show 'Pippin' which just won four Tony Awards at the 67th Annual Tony Awards, today announced that the 2013 Triple Arts Program for young people will take place in association with National Dance Institute (NDI) from August 5 - 16, 2013 at NDI's headquarters in Harlem.
Triple Arts, co-founded by Terrence Mann and Charlotte d'Amboise, is a two-week training program for aspiring theatre professionals ages 12-18, which will be taught and led by Mann and d'Amboise along with an acclaimed staff of highly-trained industry professionals. Students will have the opportunity to explore all aspects of the craft and technique behind musical theatre performance including the audition process, song interpretation and scene study. The comprehensive set of classes and workshops focuses on acting, singing and dancing, and the ability to use all three elements together.
"The goal of Triple Arts is to nurture young people in the disciplines of musical theatre while enriching and encouraging creativity," said Mann. "Through this program, we hope to provide a learning environment that fosters confidence, enabling students to discover their individual potential."
"Terry and I started this program as a way to give back to the musical theatre community," said d'Amboise. "We have been working on Broadway for over 30 years and wanted to find a way to effectively pass on what we have learned and teach aspiring performers about the business, and the three main disciplines - acting, singing and dancing."
"We are thrilled that Charlotte and Terry are joining an amazing roster of world-class artists teaching, creating and collaborating here at the NDI Center," said Ellen Weinstein, Artistic Director of NDI. "With Triple Arts, we further NDI's mission to provide opportunities for children to learn and grow through access to the highest quality arts experiences."
Triple Arts will take place from August 5-16, 2013 from 10:00AM - 6:00PM at the National Dance Institute Center for Learning & the Arts (217 West 147th Street, NYC). The fee to participate is $1,500.
