Mo Brady and Nikka Graff Lanzarone announce the release of The Ensemblist's 31st episode: "Ensemble Shows."

On this latest episode of The Ensemblist, Nikka and Mo interview three Broadway stars who have shined in ensemble musicals. As veterans of various types of Broadway shows, Telly Leung, Dana Moore, and Julia Murney explain how ensemble shows are unique experiences that require trust and flexibility throughout the entire journey.

As opposed to traditional book musicals with lead characters, supporting players, features, and then the ensemblists, ensemble shows tell their story differently- every member of the cast plays a lead character at some point during the show.

Leung (Godspell, Rent, Pacific Overtures, Flower Drum Song) had the opportunity to perform in the first Broadway revival of Godspell in 2011. He reveals how the audition process for the production set the tone for the collaboration that was to happen throughout rehearsals. Moore (Fosse, Chicago, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, The Will Rogers Follies, Dangerous Games, Sweet Charity, Singin' in the Rain, On Your Toes, Copperfield, Sugar Babies, Dancin', A Chorus Line) is a Broadway gypsy through and through, having had various opportunities to perform in ensemble shows. Murney (Wicked, Lennon) explains how Lennon took a unique route in portraying the title character by using all of its ensemblists.

New episodes of The Ensemblist can be downloaded every two weeks through the iTunes store by searching for "The Ensemblist." Episodes can be also be streamed on Stitcher Radio, TuneIn, and downloaded directly from Podbean at theensemblist.podbean.com.
