According to Deadline, Tony nominee Taylor Louderman is set to star as the female lead on the forthcoming CBS pilot titled EMPEROR OF MALIBU. She joins the previously announced Ken Jeong and Max Willems. The series comes from Kevin Kwan and Warner Bros. TV. Kwan is known for his work as author of the 2018 blockbuster CRAZY RICH ASIANS.

The comedy, titled "The Emperor of Malibu," follows two very different families-one from Shanghai with new money and one from the East coast of the U.S. with old money- that must learn to co-exist when their children get married.

Deadline describes Louderman's character, Kate, as "a charming, easygoing classic California blonde, Kate's an intellectual property lawyer who urges her fiancé, Auggie (Willems) to tell his parents about their engagement - confident that they'll eventually get over the cultural differences and embrace the relationship. But that was before she actually met his parents."

The series also stars Deborah S. Craig, who is a Drama Desk Award winner for her role in the original Broadway cast of "Spelling Bee". Craig recently starred in the Encores! Off Center production of "Gone Missing".

Taylor Louderman currently stars as Regina George in Mean Girls on Broadway. She recently finished starring as 'Lauren' in Kinky Boots on Broadway. She made her Broadway debut originating the role of 'Campbell' in Bring it On: The Musical. Television credits include: Nick Jr.'s "Sunny Day" (Blair), Wendy in NBC's Peter Pan Live, HBO's "High Maintenance." Taylor has also starred in roles off-Broadway at The Vineyard, Papermill Playhouse, and THE MUNY.
