Presented by Disney Theatrical Productions (Thomas Schumacher, Producer) and based on the Disney animated film, TARZAN® will play its final performance on Sunday, July 8th at 6:30pm. The Broadway production has been seen by more than 500,000 people, having opened in March, 2006 and played 486 regular performances and 35 preview performances.
Disney's first international production of TARZAN® opened in April 2007 at the Circustheatre in The Hague, Netherlands to enthusiastic reviews and has already received several theatrical awards. Additional international productions are in development and will be announced at a later date.
Thomas Schumacher says: "I am disappointed that the Broadway production of TARZAN® will close earlier than any of us had hoped, and I would have loved for it to have been as successful in New York as it is now in Holland. Despite this, TARZAN® was the Broadway debut for two artists I have long admired and respected, and for this I am extremely proud. The opportunity to work again with the legendary Phil Collins, who expanded his film score for the stage production, and with Bob Crowley in his Broadway directorial debut has been hugely gratifying. I know that as we continue to produce TARZAN® around the world, audiences will embrace it with as much enthusiasm as we put into creating it."

The company's inaugural production, Beauty and The Beast, currently the sixth longest-running show in Broadway history, will play its final Broadway performance after 13 years on July 29, 2007. The Lion King began a celebration of its 10th Anniversary on Broadway by opening to rave reviews in Johannesburg, South Africa earlier this month. Directed by Tony Award®-winning director Julie Taymor, The Lion King can also currently be seen on stage in London, Hamburg, Tokyo, Seoul, and two touring companies throughout the U.S., with a new production to open in Paris this October. Later this summer, some of the theater's most innovative artists, led by Francesca Zambello, will gather in Denver to create The Little Mermaid, with a score composed by eight-time Academy Award® winner Alan Menken and the legendary Howard Ashman, with new lyrics by Glenn Slater, before opening on Broadway in December.
