The original cast recording of Tarzan will be released in retail stores nationwide by Walt Disney Records on Tuesday, June 27th, but the cast recording is available for pre-order now by visiting the iTunes store (www.apple.com/itunes).

Through a special promotional arrangement with iTunes, customers who pre-order the cast recording before June 27th will receive the cast recording, a digital scrapbook featuring backstage photos and 1 additional song from each of the other Disney On Broadway shows--The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and Elton John & Tim Rice's Aida (all of which are also available for the first time through iTunes).

The cast recording of Tarzan can also be pre-ordered through Amazon (www.amazon.com) and Disney Direct (www.disneydirect.com), or at the Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street).

Tarzan features music and lyrics by Academy Award- and seven-time Grammy Award winner Phil Collins, who made his Broadway composing debut with this production. The score includes the five songs Collins wrote for Disney's 1999 animated film, Tarzan ("Two Worlds," "Son of Man," "Trashin' the Camp," "Strangers Like Me" and the Academy Award-winning "You'll Be In My Heart"), as well as new songs that Collins has written for the Broadway musical, including "Who Better Than Me," "For the First Time," "Everything That I Am," "Waiting for This Moment," "No Other Way," "I Need to Know," "Sure as Sun Turns to Moon," "Different" and "Like No Man I've Ever Seen." The Grammy and Tony Award-winning music team behind Tarzan includes Paul Bogaev (Music Producer/Vocal Arrangements), Doug Besterman (Orchestrations) and Jim Abbott (Music Director/Dance Arrangements). The cast recording also includes a special color booklet that features production images from that show. The recording is produced by Phil Collins, Frank Filipetti, Paul Bogaev and Chris Montan.

In addition to the eighteen tracks performed by the original Broadway cast, the original cast recording of Tarzan features a bonus track of "Everything That I Am" performed by Phil Collins. The bonus track is produced by Marius de Vries.

Tarzan stars Josh Strickland as Tarzan, Jenn Gambatese as Jane, Merle Dandridge as Kala, Shuler Hensley as Kerchak, Chester Gregory II as Terk, Timothy Jerome as Professor Porter and Donnie Keshawarz as Clayton. Daniel Manche and Alex Rutherford alternate in the role of Young Tarzan.

The production also features: Darrin Baker, Marcus Bellamy, Celina Carvajal, Dwayne Clark, Veronica deSoyza, Kearran Giovanni, Michael Hollick, Joshua Kobak, Kara Madrid, Kevin Massey, Anastacia McCleskey, Rika Okamoto, Marlyn Ortiz, Whitney Osentoski, John Elliott Oyzon, Andy Pellick, Angela Phillips, Stefan Raulston, Horace V. Rogers, Sean Samuels, Nick Sanchez, Niki Scalera, Natalie Silverlieb, JD Aubrey Smith and Rachel Stern.

In addition to the music team mentioned above, three-time Tony Award winner Bob Crowley (Aida, Carousel, The History Boys), directs and designs scenery and costumes for Tarzan. Tony Award-winner David Henry Hwang (M. Butterfly) has written the book, based on the story, Tarzan of the Apes, by Edgar Rice Burroughs, and the film, Tarzan. Choreography is by Meryl Tankard, with aerial design by Pichón Baldinu (De La Guarda). Lighting design is by Tony Award-winner Natasha Katz (Aida) and sound design is by John Shivers.
