Target Margin's Meze Offers 5 'Hellenic' Short Plays, 6/25

The Kitchen will present Target Margin's Hellenic Laboratory: Meze, a collection of five short works created by Sherrine Azab, Jake Hooker, Mike Kraskin, Jose Zayas and Magdalena Zira.  

Meze, the final laboratory event in Target Margin Theater's themed 2006-2007 season "On The Greeks", "whets the appetite for Greek literature, poetry, philosophy, drama and myth," state press materials.  The one-night only special event is Monday evening, June 25th at 7:30 p.m. at The Kitchen (512 West 19th Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues).  

"Target Margin Theater for more than 15 years has been at the forefront of New York's alternative theater scene and has been praised for its bold and sometimes wild interpretations of classic dramas and lesser-known works. Target Margin Theater has presented ambitious re-thinkings of plays by Shakespeare, Chekov, Brecht, Gertrude Stein, and Beaumarchais, among others.

The Kitchen is one of New York City's oldest nonprofit performance and exhibition spaces, showing experimental work by innovative artists, both emergingand established. Programs range from dance, music, and theatrical performancesto video and media arts exhibitions to literary events, film screenings, and artists' talks."
